1830 edition

Printed by Granville Press in Palmyra, New York.

1849 edition

Printed by Orson Pratt in Liverpool, England, this copy is actually rarer than the 1830 edition as fewer copies of the 1849 edition were printed.
Two copies of the Book of Mormon Notice the discoloration or "foxing" on the paper. This type of foxing is caused by dampness. Called bull’s-eye foxing, it is a dark reddish-brown (or sometimes green) spot with a lighter brown halo. It is usually caused by a metal impurity incorporated in the paper when it was made or left by a metal plate during printing.
