Opening Reception with Mark Bennion, 7:00-8:00 p.m.

From simple beginnings in 1830, the Book of Mormon is now used around the world inspiring millions. Come to Special Collections to see the influence of the Book of Mormon today and leave with a new appreciation for this important scripture. Visit us during the open house where we’ll have several cases open allowing you to view many of the items in the exhibit and stop by the replica Grandin Press to print the title page of the book that started it all. Come back in the evening to hear Mark Bennion, English Department Chair, discuss his own poetry inspired by the Book of Mormon and how parallel structures in the book influenced his approach to an imaginative text.
